Is it possible to uninstall the original version of JRE (Java 1.4.1) from Mac OS X v10.3 - "Panther"?


If it is possible, can I reinstall Java 1.4.1 on the same machine without having to reinstall the whole operating system?


Environment variables verification (in my Java application) is enough to assure that JRE is installed in the current machine?

Hi.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but it's unlikely you need to uninstall Java on MacOS X since it's possible to install multiple versions of Java on X without conflicts - you probably already have a couple. Look at /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions.

You might be able to get answers to your questions on the Apple website. Look, for example, at http://developer.apple.com/qa/qa2001/qa1170.html
