I just read question http://www.jguru.com/forums/view.jsp?EID=1125211 , and "what is SMTP?" just pushed me over the edge, sorry...

You know, just the other day I was reading some advice somewhere, on how to pick a good Web site, for getting good technical help.

The BAD signs, of sites to AVOID, included one where most of the questions were like this, e.g. where the right answer is probably "go read some basic, general, introductory books, and then come back" ....

I agree completely with you Chris, as I go through some of the forum questions, they really get to me. Most of them are so silly that I have half a mind to be politically incorrect and say "Dude go get a book or something..."

Forums should be for getting your most troublesome and tricky problems analyzed and answered not for mundane chatter.
