Hello. I'm trying to write my first logger file. I'm told I need a log4j.properties file to tell how/where to create the log file.

Is there a sample log4j.properties file on the web that I can look at?

Thanks for your help!

Tiffany

Wow...I want to apologize for some of the obnoxious answers you received from this thread you started. Folks shouldn't even bothering answering unless they can be helpful.

Anyway, in answer to your query, you can find an example of log4j.properties at:

http://www.vipan.com/htdocs/log4jhelp.html

ALSO take a look at:

http://supportweb.cs.bham.ac.uk/documentation/tutorials/docsystem/build/tutorials/log4j/log4j.html

for an example of how to use an xml formatted file that can do the same thing.

I hope that helps.

Eric

p.s. I'm also just starting to use log4j and think it is really cool!

Plenty of examples are included in the distro.
