We are designing a work distribution process where a master process polls a database and inserts job into a queue, where they are picked up by a pool of message driven beans. The prototype works really well, and with the ability to fine tune how many MDBs are active at any time, we are really happy with it. However, we have run into some corner cases where the sequence of groups of messages are really important. To simplify for an example, a job CREATE CLIENT would have to be run and complete before the IMPORT CLIENT DATA job started.
