Hi All

I'm using Javamail to send Mime messages.

So far, I'm able to send 7Bit, Base64 and QP encoded messages. However, I'm not able to send a 8Bit Mime message.

I tried using MimeUtility.encode(...) function to get the 8Bit encoding, but in vain.

File I used for as input to encode function contained only numbers between 0 -127.

Can anyone suggest a way to do that ?

Thank you,

-Manish.

Just leave the base64 content-transfer-encoding. It is designed to protect 8-bit data in transit, by encoding it temporarily in 7 bit char bytes, because SMTP doesn't have to preserve the high bits. Both the sender and receiver, in any reasonable Internet email implementations less then 15 years old, should know how to encode and decode base64 with no problem.
