I want to make a Installer which can be used for remote installation of java based application software which will take input from command line for backend database, and application server and web server detail and install the application accordingly using the user input detail, Is it possible to do through ANT...any suggestion how it can be implemented.. HELP required !!! thanks in advance.

i've written installation software for our company using Ant. I use Ant for all physical operations (putting down files, changing their content and configuring resources - where appropriate functionality exists in Ant). Using either a swing ui or command line interface, the user is first prompted for required information. This data goes into a property file which is read by ant, making all the user input available.

instead of writing a UI, you might want to have a look at Jelly
