Your question is not clear. It could either mean can the date represented by the object be changed or can the class be extended. Either way
the answer is yes. you can use Date.setTime () to change
the represented date. Also the class is not final therefore you
should be able to extend it. One thing you should not do (even
though it is theoretically possible) is take the source code for Date, change it and still call it java.util.Date.
