I am using JAI to create graphic text on the linux platform. I have 2 questions:

1. Where is the X11 font library ? How do I know which fonts are valid ?

2. How can I install additional fonts ?

Thanks.

Fonts related information for linux is in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts.

You can find what are the valid fonts by using the command "xlsfonts". It will give you the list of fonts compatable with your xserver.

If you want to define your fonts for java, you have to alter file font.properties under java's jre../lib directory.
