With out having a stub/client code on the client machine , you will not be able to install . The basic reason being security if any one where able to install software on any remote machine 100% of the internet community would have been on its knees the very second this would have been pissible. So to remotely deploy software with Java its impossible with out the client running either a stub which wcould be a signed applet or some kind of program say even a scoket opening client , through which you can have your own protocol to push and install software . ELSE if you just want to install a software and its on windows NT breed of machines , then you can use WMI , but again the caveat is u need to be a user with permissions to write files on the client machine.
