I have a midlet chatting demo setup on the Motorola T720 wireless phone, which subscribes Verizon wireless networks. Within the midlet, I created a server datagram connection to listen for incoming datagram. Now, I am trying to get the ip address of the phone, so that my desktop chat application may talk to the phone. I went throught the j2me API, but could not figure out how to programatically get the phone's IP address at run time.

Could anyone give me a hint?

Thanks a lot for your help!

If you use Java sockets in your desktop application, you can easily get the IP of the client by using Socket classes getInetAddress- or getRemoteSocketAddress-methods.
