How to minimize data flow in midlet networking ?

I use a http connection in midlet to open a PHP script running on a webserver. It runs good, but when I try it in Nokia 7210 emulator, it shows more received data than PHP script sends. When PHP script sends about 230 characters emulator shows more than 500 bytes received. Does received data contain also HTTP header ? Number of transmitted bytes from emulator to server is big too. However midlet doesnt send any data to server emulator shows a lot of bytes sent out.

Is there any way how to minimize data flow between midlet and server ?

Thanks.

Look up the documents on the HTTP (protocol) to see the additional dialogue that takes place, e.g. yes of course the http headers are sent, in both the request and the response.

The request headers tell the browser type, any cookies, "referrer", browser preferred encoding, etc., in addition to the URL itself, and the response headers include more cookies, content-type, content length, etc., in addition to the body of the document .
