Hi Everybody,

It will be great if someone can answer my question please as soon as possible.

While trying to port a (JSP/Servlet HTML)application under Tomcat 3.3 to Tomcat 4.1.24, I found that special characters( like "é" : accents, tilde...) were replaced with "?". And this problem is not existing under Tomcat 3.3. I wonder if the encoding of the data has changed in Tomcat 4.1.24 or if there is some configuration that I might do.

best regards

Mohammed

I had the same problem with generated content from a database.

tomcat 4.1.24 -->MySql J/connector 3-->MySql 4

solution that i found was to add following parameters to my connection string:

useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=iso-8859-1

hope this helps

kind regards

kris
