HI,
I am a starter to RMI. I have written a simple RMI program. But I am getting problem in running that.I am giving the details below :
I am using Windows 98, JDK1.3
The remote interface is : PerfecrTimeRemoteInterface.java
The implementation of it is :PerfecrTimeServer.java.
The client which invokes method on remote method is : PerfecrTimeClient.java.

All these source are under directory : d:classes
miexamples

All class files are in : package c15.ptime
so the classpath is ...examplesc15.ptime;

The java.policy file is :
grant {
permission java.net.SocketPermission "*:1024-65535",
"connect,accept";
permission java.io.FilePermission
"d:\classes\rmi\examples\-", "read";
permission java.net.SocketPermission "*:80" , "connect" ;
};

Is the policy file correct ??
Where should i put the policy file ?
what is the steps and command for running the server and client ??

Please help me. Any answer is highly appreciated.
thank you.

We have RMI servers running under JDK 1.2.2 and we set the location of the policy file with the system property
-Djava.security.policy=. We are on a secure network so we just open up all the permissions

grant {

permission java.security.AllPermission;

};
