Tools for testing concurrent java programs

Are there any (free?) tools for developing and testing concurrent java programs that anyone knows of? Are there any hints you could give me as to how to test them otherwise?

If you are looking for an unit test framework, then take a closer look at JUnit 3.8.1. It have a few nice standard extensions as well as 3r party extensions like JMTUnit.
