TOMCAT just stops responding any request?

We are running a project which is developed with TOMCAT, and there is a problem bothering us - TOMCAT sometimes just stop resonding any http request.

We tried using "telnet host 8080" to connect, then we found that it's alive and able to receive the socket request, but after we input the header information (such as "GET /test HTTP/1.1") we couldn't get any response.

I have no idea if there are some ways to improve the reliability of TOMCAT - maybe we have to do some tuning?

Does any body have ideas about how to handle this case or how to identify the real problem? Please give me some hints, any comment is appreciated.

what OS are you using ?

We have the same problem(Tomcat 4.01, in Win2k).... tomcat console just stop responding, and we have to press "enter" key manually to let it continue.

switch to WinNT(SP6).... and everything works fine.
