Hy mates,

I have been trying to connect to my MySQL database from my Java applet for quiet some time now, without any success. The applet is successfull in loading the MySQL JDBC driver but when it try to access the database, I get a "java.security.PrivilegedActionException". The same application in stand alone version workes fine, so I guess I have a applet security problem. I already checked IE to see if it is "Java enabled", I also tried to create a privilege file granting ALL actions from my localhost address

(/lib/security/java.security)

I am desperate, having nightmares during my sleep, please someone free me from my agony...

First I have to say that I'm not sure of my response.
But, indeed I succeed in connecting to a Mysql Database
from an applet.

The only things you have perhaps forgotten is that applet
can only connect to things that are on the same host from where it's hosted.

Indeed, and that's where I'm not sure, perhaps you have to
sign your applet before you can connect to a database ...

here an interessting link :

I hope my response help you.

Tony

Ps : sorry for the poor english, but I'm French
