Hi all

When using JDBC connection class with oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver as driver manager, do I have Connection Pooling as default when executing

conn = DriverManager.getConnection("connection strings");

or do I have to implement in some way the pooling???

Whose connection pooling are you using? Oracle's? Your J2EE app server's? Apache Jakarta's? Your own?

To use Oracle's connection pool implementation, you create one of their "OracleConnectionPoolDataSource" objects, and then wrap it in one of their "OracleConnectionCacheImpl" objects (both are in their "classes12"). The confusing thing is that Oracle uses the term "connection cache", for what everyone else in the universe calls a "connection pool".
