Hey all,

I have read the J2EE tutorial provided by SUN, but it is targeted to using GUI based OS. I need to find a tutorial to get a start on command line J2EE deploy/development. Anybody know one?

Thanks in advance,

Toshi

If you want to use the command-line based tools to do J2EE development (or just have to do so because you don't have any X server available), I can only recommend you to read the appropriate topic in the J2EE tutorial from Sun (http://java.sun.com/j2ee/tutorial/1_3-fcs/doc/Tools.html).

Of course, this means you will have to perform several actions manually, e.g. create your JAR/WAR/RAR/EAR files, write your deployment description files, etc.

Hope this helps...

No, there is no such tutorial. Nothing keeps you from writing and deploying your code from the command line, but I'd recommend installing X ,some IDE and an app server, then exercising some of the examples to get an idea what this whole EE thing is about.

By the way, I'm using J2SE JDK 1.4.1 and J2EE SDK 1.3
