Hi there

I would like to know if JUnit can be used to test java classes that are used for asynchronous messaging, such as JMS or Tibco Rendezvous. From what I have found so far, there does not seem to be a good way of unit testing messaging classes. Do you have any solutions to how one could use JUnit for testing JMS or Tibco Rendezvous classes?

Thanks for your help.

Just some thoughts: you canĀ“t test them in an asynchronous manner. When will the test fail? Which class has recieved the message to a message board (publish-subscriber)? So you can use a timeout and observe for the reactions. (not good). But you should be able to invoke the class directly and not via JMS. So you can test the business logic of your class. The JMS-system should be tested by the provider.
