In the documentation on how to use a Security Manager with Tomcat, I found the command that should be used:

%CATALINA_HOME% incatalina start -security (Windows)

But how to accomplish this when I start Tomcat not with a batch file but with Tomcat.exe (net start ...)

- Is the Tomcat.exe file built to work with a security manager by default?

- or do I need to re-create my own tomcat.exe (with javaservice.exe from alexandria software, for instance). If so, what is the correct command line for javaservice?

Did you try to pass the security parameter in the properties panel of the service?

You can find it the service list as property of the service.

Hope this helps. bye.
