I am starting to write programs for my phone, which is Java enabled CLDC 1.0 and MIDP 1.0. I usually use TextBox(es), with preloaded default value, to get the user input. The problem is neither the Sun Java phone emulator nor my real phone provide a way to delete the inserted character. Is it a known MIDP TextBox problem? Is there a way to delete the inserted characters (some keys combination, some specific code)? Should I use a different class, instead of TextBox, to make the user changing the default input?

With Sun's emulators, you can use the backspace key on your keyboard to delete a character.

Your phone should provide a way to delete a character. With most phones, there's a single key to delete the character, or there's a menu option labelled "Clear" or "Delete" on the TextBox Screen.
