I use a WHERE 0=0 in a strung-up on-the-fly query. But not sure if that is causing it. That should not. The strung-up query with WHERE 0=0 works fine when tested via the SQL Server Query UI. Me baffled!(so what's new, you might ask:)

What things could cause this error?

Maybe jdbc driver does not support a data type that resides on your database.

Check SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver guide, if you are using some data types such as NCHAR, NVARCHAR sometimes causes conflicts on jdbc.
