How do I pass parameter using URL?

How do I use the MM_editRedirectUrl?

When I call it this way I have an error.

MM_editRedirectUrl = "appointment1.jsp?Select= <%=request.getParameter("select") %>";

Please help me.

The "MM_" sounds like one of those auto-generated bits of code from MacroMedia Dreamweaver. Yuck, I am facing a similar annoying problem too, having to modify a page that was generated by Dreamweaver. It looks real pretty and snazzy, but is difficult and painful to get in and modify.
