What are the issues with regards to creating TimerTasks within an EJB? Essentially, by creating the TimerTask, we are in essence creating a thread. The EJB spec and documentation that I have seen explicitly warns not to create threads inside of EJBs; however, I have seen other documentation online where folks have suggested creating TimerTasks in order to get around this issue? What are the pros/cons of this approach? Thanks in advance.
