Hey Guys. I am a newbie and I'm gonna ask a newbie like question. When using MySql with mm.MYSQL-2.0.X jdbc and calling Connection.setAutoCommit(false), does the Database itself become Transaction capable? Or does it just work on the JDBC-API side?

Also, how does MySql handle Transaction support?

Toshi .

To provide the best performance, the default type of MySQL tables does not support transactions. To use transactions, you should work with innoDB type of tables.

CREATE TABLE my_table(

-- columns list

) TYPE = InnoDB;

I also had to modify "my.cnf" file. The steps are very well described in MySQL manual.
