I have read the docs on how to configure Tomcat to work as the Java Container for Apache but I'm lost. I have downloaded the mode_jk.dll and that's about as far as I got. I don't know what to do. Can someone help me as I am new to Apache and Tomcat. Thanks, Jeremy

First you need mod_jk.dll (or mod_jk.so for Linux) following next steps:

1) Copy mod_jk file to Apache modules directory.

2) Edit apache http.conf file, you must append following lines:

LoadModule jk_module modules/mod_jk.dll

AddModule mod_jk.c

# mod_jk support

JkWorkersFile C:/Tomcat4/conf/workers.properties

JkLogFile logs/jk.log

JkLogLevel error

JkMount /*.jsp ajp13

JkMount /servlet/* ajp13

JkMount /examples/* ajp13

JkMount /myApplication/* ajp13

3) Add workers.properties file to Tomcat conf directory, Tomcat generates this file, if you don't have that file, this is an example:

workers.tomcat_home=C:Tomcat4

workers.java_home=C:JDK14

ps=

worker.list=ajp12, ajp13

worker.ajp12.port=8007

worker.ajp12.host=localhost

worker.ajp12.type=ajp12

worker.ajp12.lbfactor=1

worker.ajp13.port=8009

worker.ajp13.host=localhost

worker.ajp13.type=ajp13

worker.ajp13.lbfactor=1

worker.loadbalancer.type=lb

worker.loadbalancer.balanced_workers=ajp12, ajp13

worker.inprocess.type=jni

worker.inprocess.class_path=$(workers.tomcat_home)$(ps)lib$(ps)tomcat.jar

worker.inprocess.cmd_line=start

worker.inprocess.jvm_lib=$(workers.java_home)$(ps)jre$(ps)bin$(ps)classic$(ps)jvm.dll

worker.inprocess.stdout=$(workers.tomcat_home)$(ps)logs$(ps)inprocess.stdout

worker.inprocess.stderr=$(workers.tomcat_home)$(ps)logs$(ps)inprocess.stderr

I hope it can help you

Best Regards
