ANT Tar Task Compatablity Issue NT/Solaris

I am currently using the Ant tar task (1.5) to tar up a large number of files into 1 tar file using NT4

I then use secure copy (scp) to transfer this file onto Solaris.

When I untar the command using gtar on solaris the files all have return characters at the end of the line "^M"

There appears to a compatablity issue between the version of TAR in ANT and the version og GTAR in Solaris.

Any ideas how to get aroung this would be appreciated

How about using on the files before tarring them?

We untaring with Ant be a workaround?
