Can we set a timeout in a remote method call?

If you simply mean to time the following:




String back = remoteObj.doWork();




then there is no simple way.



There are ways to set timeouts for sockets and you can search the archives for the pro's and con's of using it.



The way I time calls to the remote object is through my framework at:
