My xserver does not support XTest extension version 2, so I am getting AWTException while creating a Robot class object. How can I use this class? Is there a way out?

To construct a Robot object on an X-Windows system, the XTest 2.2 standard extension must be available (supported and enabled).

Therefore, I think your only option is to recompile X. If you're using XFree86, it's not difficult to compile version 4.x (I highly recommend the current stable version, 4.2.1). I just hope policy doesn't prevent you from doing this. :)
