I have read somewhere that some J2EE component could be used to create and send e-mails - Can anyone put me on the track?

You posted your question under the JavaMail forum header (so, I assume you have already looked at the links there to the FAQ's for JavaMail, on jguru and at Sun). Are you looking for something else then, above and beyond the JavaMail API itself? Some prepackaged components using it on your behalf?
