What do you want your output to look like?

If you would like I can give you a few helpful examples.

The Javadoc tells you how to write a conversion pattern. Because its a String containing special vocabulary (therefore pattern), you have unlimited patterns... If you want to have some "Standard"-Patterns for your company, you can define them as String constants (but the better way is to subclass org.apache.log4j.Layout, because it´s faster). You can also subclass the org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout and configure it via propertyfile (name=pattern) and set the pattern by name. ...

I´m sorry, I don´t know a source for international standard pattern.
