How can I create a new java file from within the program. There doesn't exist such a choice on the filemenu why not?

Also why does IDEA try to access the floppy drive first when I want to open an existing file? No matter if it is the first time I opens a file during this session or if I've opened a file before it still tries to access the floppy.
Ok I can live with it but it's annoying non the less.

Thankfull for answer

To create a New file from withing IDEA, you can right click on the directory/package (either in the project or source window) you wish to create the file within. The context menu will have "New ->" as the first menu item, and you can select what you want to create.
