IO Interactive announced today that Hitman 1 and 2 owners on Steam will be able to transfer their progress to the Hitman 3 version for the Epic Games Store at no cost.
The controversy had been generated a few days ago when the studio announced that this was not possible and that players were going to have to buy the first two installments of the series again to import their progress. However, following the anger of the people and the frustration of Hitman veterans, IO Interactive changed course.
Unfortunately, this new option will not be available on the launch day of Hitman 3, as they are working on finding an alternative. However, IO assured that PC players who already own the first two installments will be able to import their games at no additional cost
In addition, IO Interactive stated that Hitman 1 GOTY Access Pass will be available for free to all who pre-order Hitman 3 or to those who purchase the game within its first 10 days of release.
Hitman 3 is coming to PC on January 20 and will be exclusive for a limited time on the Epic Games store. If you’re in the mood to see more about the latest installment in the World of Assassination trilogy, it was recently revealed that Mendoza, Argentina, will be the game’s penultimate location.
