Does TINI support IP fragmentation and reassembly?

Tim Rohaly

No. TINI only supports IP datagrams with a total length up to 1500 bytes. This equates to a payload of at most 1480 bytes. Packets which are larger than than this cannot be sent or received. This size was chosen because it is the MTU for Ethernet, and the IP sepcification requires platforms to support IP datagrams of at least 576 bytes or the MTU, whichever is larger.

Fragmentation and reassembly are expected to be added in later versions of the TINI OS.
