How do I configure Tomcat 4.0 with the Apache 2.0 web server on a Windows 2000 server?

Detlev Beutner

If you like to use mod_jk, you will find some help on this page: Apache 2.0.x running with Tomcat 4.0.3 via mod_jk. (especially for windows, because there is no binary distribution of mod_jk on tomcat-sites till now).

To run them together, use the following minimal hints:

In httpd.conf, add (for example)

---------------------------------------------------

### Section EXTRA: Tomcat-Binding
#
# Using mod_jk.dll to redirect dynamic calls to Tomcat
<IfModule !mod_jk.c>
LoadModule jk_module modules/mod_jk.dll
</IfModule>
JkWorkersFile "[...]/tomcat4.0.3/conf/workers.properties"
JkLogFile "[...]/tomcat4.0.3/logs/mod_jk.log"
JkMount /servlet/* ajp13
JkMount /*.jsp ajp13

---------------------------------------------------

In workers.properties (you can take the on from Tomcat 3.3.1), have as a minimum:

---------------------------------------------------

workers.tomcat_home=[...] omcat4.0.3
workers.java_home=[...]j2sdk1.4.0
ps=
worker.list=ajp13
worker.ajp13.port=8009
worker.ajp13.host=localhost
worker.ajp13.type=ajp13
worker.ajp13.lbfactor=1

---------------------------------------------------

This works. Additionally, have a look at the docs (and edit server.xml and web.xml to meet your needs).
