How do I distribute a Java application to my clients?

John Zukowski

To run a Java application you need a Java Runtime Environment. Sun permits you to distribute theirs freely. See for where to get the latest.

If you don't want to force the user to manually install the JRE, you can package your application with the help of tools like InstallAnywhere from Zero G, InstallShield, or a new technology from Sun called Java Web Start (still in early beta).
