Which web servers support server side JavaScript?

Alessandro A. Garbagnati

As far as I know both Netscape Server/iPlanet and IIS will allow you to use JavaScript as a server side language.

With IIS, in fact, you can use JavaScript (as well as VisualBasic Script) for writing ASP, and, if you install the ActivePerl module, you can even use PerlScript.

But, at the same time, you need to consider that other web servers can allow you to do the same if there are JavaScript parser modules for them. For example, there is a module (mod_javascript) for Apache that should do it.

And, if you think, if you can find a JavaScript package for Java, with some work you should even be able to use any Servlet Container to process JavaScript code.
