What is a djinn?

Tim Rohaly

Djinn is a term sometimes used to refer to a federation of services, or community of services. That is, a group of services, devices, and clients which share the same lookup server and can interact with each other using Jini. A djinn is a dynamic grouping - it changes as services enter or leave, as network connections are established and broken, and as clients come and go.
