How do I install Apache and Tomcat with SSL / HTTPS support?

STeve Punte, from the Tomcat Users List, writes:

The web site http://www.ccl.net/cca/software/UNIX/apache/index.shtml was great for me on getting SSL operational. Not for the faint of heart!
